Thanks all The thinking here is that it is equally distracting for a driver to hear one end of a conversation as to be telephoning him/herself. They argue that the mental effort of filling in the blanks to reconstruct the conversation is as dangerous as having the phone yourself.
So true. I still drive in silence, it's refreshing not to have to talk or listen to anyone for a while.
