It began life as a multi-media sketch - watercolour, gouache and inks. The size was 56 X 36 cm. I experimented with smaller prints and some photographic manipulation of the colours. The post is from one of those, though it is the one nearest to the original, which I thought the most successful, which is perhaps as it should be. The original sketch was made from "life", but freely. No attempt to be faithful to what was there. It is houses and trees, but I do not at all mind if you see it differently. The intention was that the design should grow compatibly.
Love this Dave, the colours, the atmosphere, the shapes. (saw the trees and houses ok, but as some kind of skeletal aftermath. Beautiful in a haunting way.
This is so fun! For me, it's like overlays from different time periods, as though one is time traveling and seeing the various structures and plantings as they are erected and grow. When you travel too quickly, the images blend together like a non spinning mobius strip.
