For Life and Love : a paean.

Semaphore (Samuel Peralta) in Form for All at dVerse Poets Pub challenges us to write an acrostic* poem -- a new departure for me.
Friends of Gaia gather round,
Open up your loving hearts
Return the love you have received:
Love the self, that first of much;
Inspire the tired, lack-lustre ones,
Fire them with the Earth's sure touch.

Earth has bounty still in store.

All creation joins the song
(Nations clamour still for more),
Delights to greet each golden crop
Looks to man to mind the shop
(Oh,shame, not all crops reach the shelves),
Violence is to ourselves.

Earth, begin again today!
.......................................................................
A tad too late for your Thanksgiving, I tried to find a related theme. *Acrostic = The initial letters of each line spell out its theme.

You may want to review the second-to-last line to round out the acrostic... But this makes for a wonderful example. Hope your Thanksgiving was filled with the blessings of friends and family...

Nice one Dave. You managed it easily. My wish is the same as yours. Get life back to basics once more and stop the endless lust for greed.

I get that you were shooting to say people could care for and feed each other better. But I missed a few things:

Questions:
(1) "Fire them" ?? Is this a good thing in your dialect of English?
(2) FORLIF E ANDLSV E ? "For Life and LSVE? What is that last word suppose to be?

Thanks for pointing out the error. In fact, I missed out the "Oh! making the last word "love".
And thanks again for a great prompt. Blessings to you and yours.

Thanks. Yes, we're on the same wavelength here.

Sabio
Thanks for the inquiries.
1: "Fire them" here means enthuse them, motivate them, encourage them etc.
2: As explained above: should have been "Love" -- as per the title.

Hi there, i read your blog occasionally and i own a similar one and i was just curious if you get a lot
of spam responses? If so how do you prevent it, any plugin or anything you can advise?
I get so much lately it's driving me insane so any assistance is very much appreciated.
