smiles...interesting....as artists we often break a piece of time off to hold...a quick snapshot of the moment...there is though that magic that happens where sometimes even in the art we can see beyond that moment...not always easy as well to capture what we see when its not what the art wants...interesting structure to this one dave...
These each have a unique perspective, Dave; but then again I would expect nothing less from an artist. I do think art, visual art OR written art, does transcend time. Once created, it will always exist.........somewhere!
You only have to walk round the ancient sites in Rome to know how art transcends time.
Surprising, very unusual and delightful.
I very much enjoyed your perspective here. So interesting to think of time transcended in the first one, in that they are coming up with automatic patinas - something usually developed over time happening in a chemical millisecond. Very cool.
Then you have the slower versions. So hard to actually paint what one sees either actually or internally - it never turns out quite the same - sometimes actually much better but you know - and I think painters above many artists have a very strong feeling about transcending tradition and time.
Lastly - the narrative - and this reminds me of those old style murals where you see the story flattened out before you - you know - the beginning at one corner, the end at another. Very cool and a long way from that blow torch! Thanks much, Dave. I recently unearthed some old painting materials that I'd stuck away a long time ago. I've really been too busy to take them up again, but I hope to have some time soon. Such an absorbing wonderful way of transcending one's own self at least if not time. (And time.)
