Yes, it is an actual pear that has been developed for the Chinese market specifically.

I appreciate the request for a link, but very few of them come from the net. Mostly from radio, T.V. or the papers. Will bear it in mind, though.

I was going to say that "chinese pears" look more like apples. Must try and see this new specimen.
