Smile time
(Well, it made me smile.) South Midlands police force has been officially warned against wearing thongs or bright boxer shorts. A retired officer relates that in his day (now?) the uniform material was "so serge" that many of them took to wearing pyjama bottoms. - presumably under their uniform! (Heard on Radio 2 this morning.)

That must be the sight.
I can understand not wearing thongs with scratchy material, but bright boxers? The ASDA boss may not be new for long!
I always knew that it was a mystery what went on under a policeman's helmet, now it seems the same can be said for trousers!
Sorry, but I never did quite get that thong thing...like wearing a wedgie all day!

Must confess, never gave one thought to what might be under a law enforcement officer's uniform.

I've been trying to work out how they're going to enforce "no thongs"......
Can't be caught with a panty, underwear line under those trousers!
Be grateful they don't go the full monty that would really be something out of the box.

I enjoyed your comments. I had thought of a play on knickers and knickers, but thought that might be a little too obvious, as is born out by the fact that you all avoided it.
