Seems incredible doesn't it but I'm sure most right handed folk can't imagine the difficulty of using something the wrong way round!
and a blooming Belfast teacher when I was 6, slapping my wrist for daring to be left-handed!
I am reminded of Seuss and The Butter Battle Book with zooks who took their bread butter side up,...or down....
Yikes. I suppose it does account for a lot of deaths.
The Italian word for “left” is sinistra, deriving from the middle-aged belief that left handed people were evil.
Queen Elizabeth II and Prince William are lefties, as are a lot of accomplished people. I always notice actors in movies who write something and a surprising number of them are left-handed. Must have to do with being artistically right-brained.
I was in a similiar situation as Gerry Snape being slapped on the wrist for writing left-handed we also has a cross or X marks the spot on our right-hand to remind us which hand to write with. I blame this for my very poor handwriting.

I may have stretched it a bit. I found the stat' among those that were issued for the ways in which folk - and how many folk - met their ends last year. How many were struck by lightning, killed by shark attack etc, etc. I can't remember the exact figure, but it was well over 1,000 for the year.
