watercolour and haiku

on a broiling day
a distant stretch of water
reflects its coolness

I am now giving myself a few days off blogging, a week at the most, the more effectively to attack a few domestic projects that are becoming bogged down - not least, one associated with our daughter's 25th Wedding Anniversary - and maybe to catch up on my reading and re-charge the batteries, that sort of thing. (I am also hoping that by then Blogger will have put its house in order.)

I do intend to be keep up with the visiting, though maybe not commenting quite as much. My grateful thanks to you all for support thus far. See you again anon.

Lovely painting Dave. Enjoy the break. We all need the recharge now and again and also to get caught up on things in the real world. Can't wait to have you back posting.

Much thanks everyone for your good wishes, though I have to confess that it has not started well and I am somewhat behind in what I was hoping to get done. It took a big dip when our grandson drove into flood water which he hadn't seen, when on the way home from work sometime after midnight. He hit the central barrier at 60 mph going backwards, as had a young girl a few minutes earlier. The recovery vehicle, the ambulance and the police also didn't see it. He walked away unscathed - it seems, apart from a sore shoulder - but the girl was not so lucky. The car was unrecognisable.
Nothing that bad has happened since (!) and I am now just getting into my stride. Thanks to all once more. Hope to get round to you all anon.
