for the beauties of the poppy fields
some leave the fighting.

Of course, I didn't see the article, but I'm wondering if the beauty or the product tempted them?

Maybe we could come up with a different attraction!

Or maybe its the money. Think about how many nice rifles a field of poppies can buy.

I feel sorry for this sad and violent country. We haven't done well by them.

Wish the Taliban would just stay in the poppy fields.

For the raw beauty
of the fight, leaders stay numb
and drugged with power.

Many thanks yet again. Of course, you all got there: it wasn't the beauties of the poppy fields that tempted them away from their even m ore horrific duties, it was the need to harvest the poppies.

Some excellent suggestions from among you.
