No need to save it
just stop messing with the world
and let it save itself

That might be the answer. Hopefully it can actually be saved.

dave i imagine that'll happen - it will change to whatever it needs regardless of human intervention. steven

Very apt haiku Dave. I feel if we left things alone the world would write itself, but we cannot help interfering. I fear we shall eventually completely die out.

This is great Dave, I totally agree. There's maybe an exception: some wild animals whose environment has already been destroyed...

Yes, I think the tinkering is trying to save us, Dave!

Earth, like a horse that's been 'messed with' too much, has become unmanageable. But the beauty of the wild can return like a horse set free.

This was said so succinctly in your haiku. I messed with it too much.

Precisely, as a race we are far too concerned with picking and poking, sometimes we should learn to stand back and leave well alone.

Read somewhere today that we're losing 200 species per day - yet, here we all are still...

Great haiku.

We seem to be unanimous on this issue. I wonder... does that mean we're unrepresentative of humanity at large? If not, what's the problem, why do we not seem able to stop messing when it's so clear that there lies the trouble?
Much appreciate all your efforts in reply.
