Apart from the eclipse, the moon was beautiful this solstice. But I didn't see the red moon.
Grand haiku, Dave.

Our moon was a copper penny, and just glorious hidden by earth's shadow.

Like the idea of a red moon hidden!

It was hidden from me too, Dave, although I did see the first bits of shadow. We'll just have to wait for the next time!

Yes, it was the most glorious red.

Wish I could have seen it.

Your haiku is wonderful. Thank You for telling me you also had one about the eclipse.

I have been reading about haiku construction and how correctly write one ... the surprise at the end and haven't quite mastered that part yet but... I do enjoy writing them.

Your photo for "When earth became a lesser sun" is fabulous !

You too have a lovely Christmas.

cheers, parsnip

Thanks all
Your visits and comments are very much appreciated.

I am not sure how much I'll be around Blogland over the next two or three days - popping in and out, most likely. In accordance with an ancient family tradition going back more years than I care to recall - could be as many as ten - we have our family Christmas dinner tomorrow on Christmas Eve. Could be I'm in danger of having two Christmas dinners this year! Be assured I shall read them all and visit - eventually!
