2 Haiku

they swept the paths clean
and muddied the patio -
last night's wind and rain

they made themselves heard
even above the wind's noise -
the cats and foxes

the wind and rain are nature's helpers. They were here before we started making concrete patios.

I got chills at the final line of the haiku couplet.

I guess you are progressing nicely with Windows 7, then? I stick with Macs so I do not have to think when I unpack a new computer. I avoid thinking whenever possible! well. Unless it's for writing or painting, and that's not the same sort of thinking, really...

I can well imagine the noise of the storm and the animals!

We've had all the rain, howling winds, thunderstorms, floods lately down here in OZ ever since the drought broke. The cyclones in Queensland have caused havoc :-).

Especially fond of the second one - I'd forgotten about the sound of foxes for a while! I miss British wildlife! (as much as one misses the noise of foxes!)

Yes, they're part of nature - as are we - and therefore achieve conflicting results.

Thanks, yes, it's all gone reasonably well, except re-establishing the network. It now appears that there's a fault in one of the Ethernet cables, so first thing tomorrow I'll be off to buy a new one.

I suppose had I been a composer, I might have gotten a symphony out of it!

Glad you thought so. Very pleasing, that. Thanks.

Yes, we've been reading something of it all and seeing it on T.V. Not the same, though, obviously. I can't imagine how you cope. (Hadn't realized you were down in Oz - best wishes to you for a calmer future.)

Some times you don't realise how much you miss something until it returns.

I read a number of your poems and you're a great poet! Love the Haikus in here and I got to remember our patio when I was a child. Haven't heard a fox yet. Must be scary amidst the noise.
