My apologies to any Chinese readers who might have happened by, but I couldn't resist a descent into the Vaudeville for this one. The reference, of course, is to the Chinese contention that The Nobel Prize is rigged by the Western Nations for their own political ends, which has led to the Chinese Government instituting their own, alternative, peace prize. Sounds on the face of it, not much different to our spat with F.I.F.A.!

I believe they suggested Julian Assange should be given the Nobel, right?

I just heard on the morning news that there will be a vacant chair at the award's ceremony. Sort of like a horse without a rider. Post-Modernism?

Sounds like sour grapes to me by the Chinese Government. Most Chinese people support the Nobel Prize i believe.

Hi Everyone and many thanks.
Some really good responses - and general agreement. Thanks for the invitation scentofmyheart. Much appreciated. I will do my best, but am pretty busy just now.
