They're left- or right-clawed,
footed, finned or eyed - most animals -
unless neutered

Good one, Helen.

Gender is questioned
when brain dominance changes
along with attire.

Latest studies show
writing haiku as we age,
prevents Alzheimer's.

I love "unless neutered".

Am I missing something here Dave - or is your metaphor too complicated for my ageing brain. I thought neutering only removed the so called naughty bits.

Are they then ambidexterous?

I wonder... do politicians lose their bias when neutered?

Helen
Another good one. Thanks.

Kass
Perfect - I hadn't read that, good to know!

Helen
And me!

Conda
And me.

You share my puzzlement - maybe it's just two ageing brain, but I was brought up (from college onwards) to believe that left/right preference is determined by the growth of the speech lobes in the brain. Whichever side they develop , that side will be the dominant brain side, controlling the opposite body side. This study puts a whole new slant on the thing... what does it say about the poor souls who are ambidextrous, for example?

Ronda
You took the thought right out of my incubating brain - see Weaver above.

Cloudia
Eh? I've been blamed for a few things, but this is a snip too far!

Derrick
And long may it be so.
