Don't call them Honey,
Sweetheart, Darling, love or Pet --
women hate them all

How right you are! LOL :)

'Pet' is my big weakness but I've only ever had one woman object to being called it and so I stopped. I think a lot has to do with how you use these terms of endearment. They're like the word 'pity' - it needs to be handled with care. With my dad it was 'love' and it became such a habit with him that he even called blokes 'love' on occasion.

Especially coming from complete strangers. I'm not sure that men enjoy these terms either.

You got that right! Oh, and don't forget "Sweetie." That's what my boss calls me. How demeaning.

I guess it does depend a bit on how it sounds and who says it. Just stick with "hotstuff". :)

What i hate most of all is being called all of those names by a woman, but when i object to them they just laugh at you, then when the boot is on the other foot you're wrong and a male chauvinist pig it's happened to me many times. I've also given up opening doors for a women because of this poor attitude.

Thanks All
Locality seems to have a lot to do with it. They seem more acceptable in some areas than in others. As for holding open doors... that's not a patch on offering up a seat, which I haven't done since a gorgeous little dolly bird on a crowded train offered me hers. Then I knew I was getting old. Worse part was, I was with my teenage grand children, who thought it too funny for words.

From Therese B. -- As they say, who can figure out what goes on the minds of women?

I quite like it when someone calls me pet, or hen, or as everyone in Glasgow seems to do: doll. But I hate it when my husband calls me 'babe' ugh! when he does I call him gag.

You can call me any of those things...please...

Only if you don't know them. A stranger saying them is unwanted.
