Equally dangerous -
telephoning at the wheel
and from the back seat.

So true. I still drive in silence, it's refreshing not to have to talk or listen to anyone for a while.

Are we speaking back seat drivers here Dave?

Avoid smoking, drinking, eating, listening to the radio, looking at the satnav, kids in the back, everything really. Better yet, get a chauffeur!

Are you saying that drivers at the wheel are phoning from the back seat while driving?. I hope not that would be dangerous.

Thanks all
The thinking here is that it is equally distracting for a driver to hear one end of a conversation as to be telephoning him/herself. They argue that the mental effort of filling in the blanks to reconstruct the conversation is as dangerous as having the phone yourself.
