A word about the first one. I am a bit tardy with it; it happened 5 years ago, but can you guess who we're talking about?

Not sure Dave, but the first one reminder me of bankers drinking the country dry!

Compatibility? I am the youngest, married to the eldest. I find this works mostly as there has to be at least one grown up in a relationship!!

gotta ask, so who's the best one to choose, first born, middle or last??

I see two first borns in a union that makes for some unhappy times. Two leaders vying against each other. Birth order is important, I agree.

Puzzlements. I can't guess the 1st, but it seems like only yesterday! Provocative haiku, to be sure.

Bankers?

The first Haiku has got to be about greedy bankers and their obscene bonus payments while the working man suffers on the poverty line and sometimes below.

Thanks Everyone
Yes, you got there! Drinking the City dry was actually a joint effort by the bankers and the city's finance "wizards" - as I believe they were described at the time.

I'm not sure exactly how the compatibility thing matches up, but it is the latest hot theory. I'm sure like doesn't have to marry like. It all derives from the characteristics acquired by a chid's place in the bith line. Only children become well motivated, perfectionist, etc; first born affectionate; last born team leaders etc, etc. There is a book out which explains it all, I believe. If anyone is keen to read it, I'll look out the details.
