From MAGPIE TALES a Puzzle...
(Do have a look at Magpie Tales.)
A skeleton
of something like
a mini-whale
(minutum-
dwarfadon
to such as us)
that NASA found
(or so they said)
full many a mile
below the ground
in thermal ducts.
The whole thing sucks.
My grandma had
a score of these
(given her
by Thick Lips Fred
for spending so
much time in bed)
each with diamonds
in a cluster -
It is of course,
a knuckle-duster.

Twisting and turning and full of new views just like the photo.
I like the push and pull of this object and poem.
Thick Lips Fred, eh? Clever one, Dave. I'm still giggling!
At first glance I thought you had written knuckle-buster ... which it could be as well!
Great Magpie.
Loved the answer at the end. Brilliant.
Happy New Year!
Greetings from London.
I liked this one, very much.
Whoah! Spoiling for a punch up Dave? LOL
I hope Ada doesn't see this!
Each scenario as surreal as the other; perfect for that darn object.
Of course it is! Now I can see nothing else in its curlicues. Art as a deadly weapon. Thanks for the heads-up on this one, Dave!
As for me? I laughed outright. Thank you, Dave.
I can only admire your imagination and your humour, Dave, not to mention your poetry!

I felt I was wriggling to get out of it at first.
Kass
I agree. So did I.
Tess
A warm welcome to you. I'm pleased you giggled. And pleased you commented. Thanks.
Have a wonderful 2011.
Helen
My first thought was to use Buster as a name. Great minds..?

Hi and welcome. Thanks for the comment. Good to know these things - good or bad!
Great New Year to you.
Martin
Welcome indeed. And a happy new year to you. Thanks for taking time out to comment.
Jinksy
Well, yes, but I'm in my second childhood, so pillow fights are more my mark now.
Cad
Could be interesting... Welcome and a good new year to you. Thanks for the comment.

Thanks for the great comment - I wonder if we'll get to know what it is! Have a fine 2011.
Dick
Art as a deadly weapon... yes, I like that idea! Thanks a lot and all the best for 2011.
Jeanette
That's wonderful to hear. Thanks for the feedback.
Derrick
Mmm, thanks Derrick, but it is strange: the best solutions seem to come when I begin by being completly stumped.
Hahaha - that's a fun one! Nothing like what I came up with. Sorry that when you tried to 'follow' me last week Blogger wouldn't cooperate. Happy writing in 2011!
A puzzle, indeed.
Mary
Hi and thanks for responding. Have a good year.
Strummed Words
Welcome and thanks. Have a good 2011.
very tongue-in-cheek. nice!
Dave . . knuckleduster was my early thought . . but when I made a copy, it didn't fit my knuckles - either hand!
Great Magpie!
Shadow
Thanks for the compliment.
Doctor FTSE
Ah! One can be too thorough with one's research perhaps! Lovely comment. Thanks.
Of course! A knuckle-duster! It's so obvious...
Ingenious take. I really enjoyed it.
Well, duh, of course it's a knuckle-duster.
I like the way you think. : )
Wonderful imagination with such humour to boot. Love it!
Humble apologies to the three of you for having overlooked your comments.
Andreas
Seemed pretty clear to me! But I guess not everyone has my degree of familiarity with the things!
Thanks for the comment - and a very warm welcome to you.
